Drum Room Project

Drum Room Project

In the later summer of 2022 I traded an older window Air Conditioning unit for a Drum set. The kit is not 100% full. missing some cymbals, but I no longer needed the AC unit, so drums seemed a worthwhile trade. My wife was not the happiest of people, but was still incredibly supportive. The drums needed a lot of work to clean them up and get them play ready again, and I needed to find or make a spot in the house so that I could practice the drums without annoying everyone else in the house.

So let the Drum Project Begin! Here is a quick breakdown of the project, and what I THINK needs to be done.

1. Need to clean them up, get as much of the rust off as I can, and then make sure the pieces still work and fit together.   Some photos of the rust.
2. Test Drums!
3. Clean out basement, and start “building” a drum room
– 3.1 Cleaning, Sweeping, Vacuum
– 3.2 Hang some Sound Foam, Sweep the floor
– 3.3 Make a ceiling
– 3.4 Hang Some Curtains
– 3.5 More Sound Foam
– 3.6 Some Furnishings
– 3.7 Move Drums back and play

I get about an hour a day to make noise and work on this little project, so it will be slow going.
Will I have the patience to go only about an hour a day?
