Drum Room Project :: Hang Some Curtains

Drum Room Project

Drums can be quite loud, especially when you have a spouse, children, and various animals in your house as well.  The dog is not fond of the drum set at all.  My thinking, as flawed as it may be, is that it will take many layers of objects and surfaces, along with types and angles in order to create any true sound dampening.  I will probably experiment with this for sometime, before finally running some cables for microphones.

This post is dedicated to the curtains hung to help kill the sound.  The first set of pictures showcase the hanging curtains portion of this endeavor.  I am sure there are more to come, as I wander the second hand stores.  The dowel rods and metal pieces were not that much and I have plenty of rope left from this first set of curtains.

My second portion of photos of will be the curtains all along the walls.  These are hanging in front of the foam on the walls.  They add a second layer that can absorb sound, and help keep it located in my little room.
